Carlos Corberan has been dealt a handful of injury blows as West Brom suffered a drop in form in the Championship.

During the 2-1 win over Hull City last time out, the Baggies treatment table was stacked as the manager put out a makeshift starting XI to face the Tigers at the MKM Stadium on Sunday 10 November.

Corberan has been without Daryl Dike since last season, with Gianluca Frabotta adding to the injury list, but defensive trio Kyle Bartley, Semi Ajayi and Paddy McNair have been the biggest misses.

With those names missing, Torbjorn Heggem and Mason Holgate were utilised as the most recent centre-back pairing, with Callum Styles and Darnell Furlong deployed at the full-back positions.

While the back four have little experience of playing together, it was a defensively sound performance from the Baggies as they won all three points on the road.

Corberan will be nervous about the number of injuries currently stacking up at The Hawthorns, but he already seems to have an answer to his worries in 25-year-old Heggem.

Torbjorn Heggem to solve West Brom injury crisis?

Against Hull, Heggem was rock solid at the back, winning 100 per cent of his tackles and 60 per cent of his aerial duels, making nine clearances, eight of which were headed, and making three recoveries [FotMob].

He also maintained a 91 per cent pass completion, adding calmness and stability at the back, and was even able to register a 100 per cent shot accuracy during the game.

No West Brom player has a higher average pass completion this season, with Alex Mowatt coming the closest with a 90 per cent accuracy in his 15 appearances so far [FotMob].

Even though Heggem is naturally a left-back, he looked like a natural solution to the current centre-back issues at The Hawthorns, so Corberan will want to wrap him up in bubble wrap.

Another injury at the back could be detrimental to the Baggies' season, but for now, West Brom look to have solved their current problem amid a plethora of setbacks.
