Carlos Corberan has January transfer dilemma after what’s happened away from West Brom

West Brom youngster Caleb Taylor has impressed on loan at Wycombe Wanderers and Carlos Corberan may find himself with a difficult decision to make on his future.

The 21-year-old defender has been a mainstay for the Chairboys, aiding them in topping the League One table ahead of the likes of Birmingham City and Wrexham.

His development will be at the forefront of Corberan’s mind before he makes any decision in January regarding his potential recall.

Caleb Taylor could be of use to West Brom

It has been a solid campaign so far for West Brom, with the Baggies just six points from the top of the table despite a recent eight-game winless run.

Taylor has excelled at League One level and with several first-team injuries, a recall may be an option for Corberan in January as he will likely be looking to add a centre-back to his squad.

A loan spell at Bolton was cut short for the defender, with injuries taking their roll before he returned to The Hawthorns, where he would feature in an EFL Cup tie in a 2-1 defeat against Stoke City.

January will seemingly be a busy month for the Baggies and Taylor’s return is just one of several possibilities that Corberan may consider, while the club will undoubtedly dabble in the transfer market in an attempt to strengthen the squad.

With 31 games still to be played, the Baggies have every chance of earning promotion, although much of that will hinge on the business they can conduct in the transfer window.
