Corberan to axe Racic in two changes – West Brom predicted XI v Sheffield United

Carlos Corberan could leave Uros Racic out in two expected changes to the West Brom starting XI to face Sheffield United.

The Baggies fell back into familiar habits in the 1-1 draw against Preston North End last time out, recording their 10th draw in 18 Championship outings this season.

Corberan is under increasing pressure at The Hawthorns amid the underwhelming league form and will be eager to return to winning ways with a statement victory when his side hosts league leaders Sheffield United on Sunday [8 December].

Carlos Corberan to make two changes for West Brom v Sheffield United

Alex Palmer has been a mainstay in the Baggies goal this season and will be expected to resume his duties between the sticks to face Sheffield United.

The backline should remain unchanged from the draw against Preston due to the lack of squad options in the West Midlands.

Darnell Furlong should start at right-back with “colossus” Tobjorn Heggem at left-back; Mason Holgate and Kyle Bartley will be expected to resume their partnership in central defence.

West Brom led the Championship table in the early stages of the campaign with Alex Mowatt and Jayson Molumby forming the double pivot in midfield, and Corberan should return to the partnership to help break the rut at The Hawthorns with Uros Racic expected to make way for Molumby.

Tom Fellows has left a lot to be desired in his recent performances for the Baggies, but the 21-year-old has all the tools to threaten the Sheffield backline on Sunday and should be selected to try and rediscover his form.

Lewis Dobbin lined up on the left flank at Deepdale, and while he is still developing into a fine young talent for the Baggies – the more experienced Mikey Johnston should be called upon to start against the league leaders.

The frontline should also remain unchanged, with Daryl Dike nowhere close to a starting berth for West Brom – Karlan Grant will be expected to start and build on his goalscoring performance against Preston alongside Josh Maja.
