Wolves carry out due diligence on West Brom boss Carlos Corberan – Sky Sports

Wolves chiefs have carried out due diligence on West Brom boss Carlos Corberan, according to Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett.

John Percy revealed on Sunday [The Telegraph, 15 December] that Gary O’Neill had been sacked by the Old Gold following the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich on Saturday (14 December).

Corberan was linked with the vacancy and at one point on Sunday, he was 4/1 in the bookmakers’ odds, only behind former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (2/1).

Sky Sports reporter Dorsett revealed on X [15 December] that the club carried out the relevant checks on numerous targets including Baggies boss Corberan.

Corberan was never likely to leave West Brom for Wolves

The Spaniard was always an outsider to take over at Molineux.

Baggies fans seemed unconvinced by speculation that he was in the running and seemed unphased when news broke that O’Neill had been given his marching orders.

The Albion fanbase is currently split when it comes to opinions on the future of the manager.

Some supporters still have faith in the former Leeds man, due to the fact that since he was appointed in 2022, the club have gone from the relegation zone to contenders for the playoff places.

However, some fans are tired of the club’s poor form in recent months as the Baggies have drawn ten of the last 12 Championship matches, winning just two.

It should be time for the fanbase to unite behind the 41-year-old as he tries to make a playoff push and ultimately gain promotion to the Premier League.
