Wolves told how much they’ll need to pay West Brom for Carlos Corberan
Wolves have sounded out West Brom boss Carlos Corberan about becoming their new head coach, according to talkSPORT.
The radio broadcasters reported via their website on Sunday (15 December) that the Premier League club are plotting a “bold” move for Corberan after sacking Gary O’Neil and being snubbed by Graham Potter and David Moyes.
However, they would have to fork out a sum of £4million in compensation fees to acquire the Spanish tactician’s services.
Wolves interested in West Brom boss Carlos Corberan
The reason why Wolves’ interest in Corberan is interesting needs no explanation as the Old Gold and the Baggies are arch-rivals.
Corberan is regarded highly at The Hawthorns, but it remains to be seen how the feeling will change if he jumps ships and moves to the Molineux.
West Brom are hopeful that the 41-year-old is the man to take them back to the Premier League and have backed him since 2022.
Therefore, it would be disappointing if he turned his back on the West Midlands outfit at this point in the season.
Upon being asked about links with Wolves recently, Corberan chose not to shut down those rumours [Dan Salisbury-Jones].
So, one cannot be sure if he will not turn down a move to Wolves despite the history between the two clubs.
There is no doubt that Corberan aspires to manage in the Premier League and it would be understandable if he is tempted to move to the top tier.
However, most Baggies fans will not see him the same way if he joins the Wanderers midway through the season.
