Molumby embarrassed by new Watford jibe after what he did in West Brom loss

Watford have just rubbed salt into the wounds of West Brom following the 2-1 result at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

The 25-year-old could hold his head high following the defeat on 15 December, getting the Baggies back into the game following Vakoun Issouf Bayo’s brace, but it wasn’t to be for Carlos Corberan.

That meant that the side were subjected to their first loss in 13 matches, though fans have not been best pleased by the 10 draws in that period, so Corberan has much to ponder right now.

While the Baggies will already be trying to move on from the loss, Molumby has now been embarrassed on social media by the Hornets, being used to advertise the club’s football shirts.

Taking to X on Monday [16 December], Watford wrote: Be like Jayson Molumby and get your Watford shirt in time for Christmas,” with a photo of him pulling Giorgi Chakvetadze’s shirt.

The Hornets would have been majorly scared of dropping points after Molumby’s strike from just inside the penalty area, but they just could not find that final ball to equalise.

While it is just a bit of banter between the clubs, it is just an unneeded joke after the Baggies worked so tirelessly for a positive result away from The Hawthorns.

The defeat leaves Corberan’s side two points outside of the Championship play-offs, a huge contrast from their start to the campaign, and the constant draws are certainly to blame.

Their upcoming fixture list is an extremely mixed one, with winnable games against Bristol City and Derby County followed by a tough game against league leaders Sheffield United Bramall Lane.

Corberan needs to fix the current form, and fix it quickly, if the Baggies are to have any chance to breaking back into contention for promotion over the coming weeks.

In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan has been sent an “unstoppable” message by a Baggies teenager after what he did recently.
