Carlos Corberan is in the final stages of leaving West Brom to join Valencia, according to DOOD.

The reliable Albion insider reported on 24 December that a deal that takes Corberan, 41, from the Black Country to La Liga is "all being signed off" with verbal agreements already in place.

It is understood that the Baggies now hope to make a quickfire appointment to replace the Spaniard, who had been in charge at The Hawthorns for over two years.

Who will be the new West Brom manager?

Whoever the Albion get to replace Corberan, they will have a monumental job on their hands.

The biggest worry about the 41-year-old leaving the Baggies is that it'll expose just how good a job he's done with this group of players.

Corberan's entire spell at The Hawthorns has been hampered by financial and PSR issues thanks to the rudderless Chinese regime that's thankfully no longer here.

Even with Shilen Patel in charge, there are still lasting effects that Corberan had to deal with and his successor will also have to deal with.

The ex-Huddersfield boss did a brilliant job of keeping West Brom in three consecutive play-off bids despite starting off at The Hawthorns in the relegation zone when he first took charge.

A lot of names have been mentioned about who could replace him but there's nothing solid just yet.

More will hopefully emerge once Corberan's move to the Mestalla is confirmed.
