West Brom new manager: Steven Gerrard, John Terry and David Moyes odds revealed

West Brom have just started their hunt to hire a new manager after Carlos Corberan quit The Hawthorns to join Valencia on Christmas Eve.

The bookmakers have started to open the betting for who will replace the Spaniard. However, there have been few names so far mentioned in the media.

West Brom News understands that Liverpool coach John Heitinga is high on Shilen Patel and Andrew Nestor’s shortlist to succeed Corberan and the Dutchman, 41, is currently the 5/2 favourite with BetVictor.

Who will be the next West Brom manager?

There are also some big names who’ve been mentioned to be in the running for The Hawthorns hotseat.

David Moyes is arguably the biggest name in the top five favourites with the bookies.

BetVictor currently have the former Everton, West Ham and Manchester United manager, who’s out of work at the moment, priced at 12/1.

John Terry is a controversial listing. The former Chelsea captain, who coached at Aston Villa before returning to Stamford Bridge to work with Chelsea’s academy, is currently a 20/1 outsider.

Steven Gerrard is probably the biggest name on the whole list after his legendary playing career at Liverpool before he went on to win the Scottish Premiership title with Rangers. He’s priced at 25/1 and is currently the head coach of Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.

There are some other notable names further down, such as Darren Moore, Roy Keane and Jose Mourinho, who are all 33/1.

Whoever Patel ends up appointing will have a tough job ahead of them.

Despite Guochuan Lai’s exit at the start of the year, avoiding any PSR breaches remains a top priority at The Hawthorns and working with those kinds of financial restrictions is always going to have an impact on a manager’s progress.

Corberan worked minor miracles in the Black Country with one arm tied behind his back thanks to PSR.

It’s down to Patel to find someone who can not only pick up where the Spaniard left off but to also better him and show once again that West Brom can be serious promotion contenders.
