Tony Brown fumes at West Brom ace live on air amid ‘Terrible’ moment v Sheff Utd

Tony Brown was left dismayed by Ousmane Diakite’s error that saw Sheffield United take the lead against West Brom on Sunday.

The Baggies started the game well but went 1-0 down in the 23rd minute with Andre Brooks putting the Blades ahead at Bramall Lane (29 December).

Diakite took a heavy touch on the ball which allowed the Blades to get possession and put themselves a goal ahead.

Brown was disappointed with Diakite as he said live on BBC Radio WM: “It’s unfortunate. I think Ousmane Diakite lost possession and it’s allowed Sheffield United to get a shot on goal.

“His first touch is terrible and they get an effort on goal.

“Can Albion respond now? That is the thing.

“Sheffield United have got their tails up now and Albion have got to be careful not to give away a second.”

Karlan Grant did equalise as the scores were level at 1-1 at the break.

Ousmane Diakite needed to do better as West Brom conceded

Diakite hasn’t had the most game time for the Baggies this season and came into the side due to injuries in the team. However, he did not have the best start to the game.

Despite a fairly solid start for his side, the midfielder’s heavy touch in a dangerous position gave Sheffield United the ball and an opportunity to score which was too easy for a side sitting at the top of the league.

Other than that, Albion looked pretty solid and deserved their equaliser as they continue to adapt to life without Carlos Corberan.

Meanwhile, it is up to Diakite to use the remainder of the game to make up for his mistake and show his side exactly what he can add to the team as well.

In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan’s “unrest” has been revealed before his Hawthorns exit.
