Chris Brunt to axe Tom Fellows – West Brom predicted XI v Swansea

Chris Brunt could make one change to his West Brom starting line-up as his side prepare for a trip to Swansea City.

Tom Fellows could be forced to settle for a place on the bench after being withdrawn at half-time in his side’s 3-1 win against Preston North End on Wednesday (1 January).

This could see his replacement Jed Wallace take the place in the starting 11 with Fellows given the opportunity to rest.

With Alex Mowatt out injured, Ousmane Diakite could retain his place in the side.

After a solid victory against Preston, the interim boss will not want to make too many changes in the hope that his side can build on their momentum.

Chris Brunt could rest Tom Fellows for West Brom against Swansea

Alex Palmer will have been disappointed not to have seen the game out against Preston, conceding a goal in the 70th minute to stop him getting another clean sheet for the season so he will be hoping to put this right in South Wales.

Darnell Furlong, Kyle Bartley and Torbjorn Heggem could retain their places in the back four alongside Callum Styles who made it 2-0 against Preston with his goal in the 35th minute.

Mikey Johnston put on an impressive display against the Lilywhites so may keep his spot alongside Jayson Molumby.

Meanwhile, with Mowatt injured, Diakite will probably keep his place in the hope that he can further impress his manager as he looks to get more game time under his belt going forward.

Fellows was brought off at half-time on Wednesday with Brunt opting to rest the winger with his side 3-0 up at the break. Therefore, Brunt may opt to have Fellows on the bench with the option to bring him on for Wallace should it be necessary.

Karlan Grant could retain his place up top with Josh Maja who would have felt a big weight off his shoulders scoring twice for Albion after a goal-scoring draught in December.

Whether the Baggies will appoint a new boss ahead of Saturday’s (4 January) game is to be seen but if Brunt remains in charge, he will be eager to make it three games unbeaten in his tenure.
