Tom Fellows exit: West Brom goodbye may be close after £5m update today
West Brom find themselves in a transitional period during the current January transfer window as they try to replace Carlos Corberan.
However, even without a new boss, the Baggies need to ensure they are doing the right business this month to ensure they are in a good position to push for the play-offs in the remainder of the season.
Although supporters will want there to be arrivals, one man who has been set for a worrying departure is Tom Fellows, who has been a standout player for Albion this term.
Two goals and 10 assists across the campaign have gained the attacking player attention from the top flight with Everton and Crystal Palace both credited with interest in the 21-year-old [Daily Mail, 6 January].
West Brom could be set to lose Tom Fellows
Albion supporters will have been hoping to keep hold of their star man as they look towards a push for promotion this term but that may not be on the cards any longer.
According to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas (8 January), the Baggies have had a £5million bid accepted by Middlesbrough for the possible transfer of Isaiah Jones.
Therefore, the signing of the winger could mean that the Black Country club know they need a replacement for Fellows and this deal could lead to an exit being sanctioned.
If the 21-year-old does leave The Hawthorns, supporters can expect it to be for a healthy fee that will certainly help the club when it comes to PSR concerns.

However, there has to be some worry about the level of replacement when it comes to bringing Jones in from Middlesbrough.
Although the 25-year-old has proven his quality before with eight goals and four assists under his belt last season, this term has been miles away and the winger is yet to get off the mark for goals or assists despite making 21 appearances.
While there is the chance that Jones will refind his form with the Baggies and deliver in the Black Country, surely the news of his departure means there is worrying news regarding their current man-in-form to be delivered.
In other West Brom news, a new managerial candidate has suddenly sprung up with plenty of success to his name.
