Raphael Wicky could be in attendance for the FA Cup clash between Bournemouth and West Brom on Saturday, according to Alex Crook.

The Baggies are on the search for a new head coach following Carlos Corberan's surprise move to Valencia, with the former BSC Young Boys figure now in advanced talks at The Hawthorns [John Percy].

It is understood that the 47-year-old's appointment could be announced within days, having held talks with the Albion board in London this week.

Speaking live via talkSPORT [10 January, 5:47pm], Crook said: "Bournemouth at home to West Brom. West Brom could have a new manager watching in the stands, Raphael Wicky.

"I understand the former Young Boys boss is closing in on their job."

West Brom next head coach to attend Bournemouth clash?

The supporters travelling all the way down to the Vitality Stadium would be incredibly thrilled to see their next potential head coach watching from the stands.

Chris Brunt is likely to be in charge for the FA Cup tie, however, which could already be quite an exciting third-round clash without the thought of Corberan's successor being in attendance.

Of course, viewing from far above at the Vitality Stadium will show the soon-to-be head coach exactly what he will be working with at The Hawthorns - squad, injuries, and talents.

The main priority this season must be on gaining promotion from the Championship, especially given the Baggies' electric start to the campaign, but their form has certainly slipped since.

Now just one point inside the Championship play-off spots, Albion are facing a massive challenge to stay within the top-six spots, and Wicky could certainly help with that.

If the 47-year-old makes the trip down to the Vitality, it would be a huge boost for the Baggies, ahead of the match and for the campaign in general, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
