Sean Dyche to lead West Brom back to Premier League after new manager twist
Shilen Patel has been left in an extremely tricky situation following Carlos Corberan’s surprise exit from West Brom.
Hardly anyone at The Hawthorns can blame the manager for swapping his life in the Championship to the sunny skies of Spain with Valencia, though the team are sat bottom of La Liga.
For a number of days, it looked as though former BSC Young Boys manager, Raphael Wicky, was set to take over the Baggies, bringing his expertise over from Switzerland.
It was also understood that he would be in attendance for the Albion’s FA Cup clash against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium [Alex Crook], but this appointment has taken an unexpected twist.
According to John Percy, the 47-year-old’s move to England has now collapsed, with the Baggies ending talks with the former Swiss international after he was unable to assemble his preferred staff.
Sean Dyche to lead West Brom to Premier League glory
Steven Schumacher and Sean Dyche’s agents have been contacted after the Wicky managerial bombshell [DOOD], which has certainly been greeted with some raised eyebrows.
However, due to his previous spells in the Championship, Dyche could be the man to take Albion back to the Premier League after parting ways with Everton earlier this month.
During his tenure with Watford, the 53-year-old oversaw 46 Championship matches, losing just 14 of them but only managing a 35 per cent win percentage, mainly due to 16 draws.
His time with Burnley, of course, was far more prolific, winning promotion to the Premier League twice at Turf Moor and boasting a 50 per cent win record, only losing 21 times in the division.
In comparison, Corberan had an impressive 45 per cent win-rate with the Baggies in the Championship, showing his class during his time at The Hawthorns.

But with the Spaniard moving onto new horizons, Patel is in desperate need of finding a replacement if Albion want to keep their spot in the Championship play-offs this season.
Dyche could certainly be the man to help achieve that feat, though many fans are likely to be against this move due to his defensive playing style and his recent exit from Goodison Park.
