Karlan Grant exit: Burnley ‘eye Deadline Day move’ for West Brom ace

Burnley are interested in a Deadline Day move for West Brom ace Karlan Grant, according to DOOD.

The reliable Baggies insider reported via X (3 February) that two Championship sides are exploring a last-gasp move for the forward, with playoff rivals Burnley among those in consideration.

Grant was rumoured to have handed in a transfer request at The Hawthorns, and although DOOD moved to pour cold water on that speculation, he could yet be on the move before the 11pm deadline on Monday (3 February).

West Brom could sell Karlan Grant to Burnley

The 27-year-old has featured in the starting lineup at West Brom only once since Tony Mowbray was appointed in the West Midlands.

Grant has played a vital role in helping the Baggies remain in Championship playoff contention this term with eight-goal contributions in 29 outings thus far.

However, BBC Sport journalist and broadcaster Adrian Goldberg believes the forward is “not going to be happy” with his situation at Albion, and now it appears other second-tier sides have taken note.

With Mikey Johnston and Tom Fellows operating on the flanks and Grady Diangana the preferred Josh Maja replacement to lead the line, Grant’s long-term future at The Hawthorns does not look promising.

The arrival of Tottenham loan signing Will Lankshear also provides further competition for places at West Brom, and with the forward entering his prime years in football, he will not want to waste them on the bench.

Therefore, this is certainly a situation to watch as the 11pm deadline approaches, and further developments will occur throughout the day.
