West Brom insider names condition for last-gasp Karlan Grant exit
Karlan Grant could now be allowed to depart West Brom on loan in a shock twist if the Baggies succeed in their attempts to sign Southampton’s Adam Armstrong, according to DOOD.
The Albion insider reported via X (3 February) that West Brom could now sanction the loan exit of Grant if they are able to land the signing of Adam Armstrong [DOOD].
Derby had shown a loan interest in the frontman [Lewis Cox] and at the time, it appeared any exit was unlikely but that could change in the coming hours.
If Armstrong makes the move to The Hawthorns, the Baggies could change their stance on Grant and sanction his departure.
West Brom set for transfer twists ahead of transfer deadline
As always in the transfer window, clubs can change their stance within seconds if a certain development is to play out and in this case, West Brom could be the side involved in that.
Grant’s future is in limbo at The Hawthorns with it seemingly dependant on what happens at the clubs around the Championship and in particular, what happens with Armstrong.
As it stands, it looks as though Grant will remain at West Brom but if Armstrong makes the move, it would be a huge boost to their attacking lineup and likely push Grant down the pecking order.

With his experience in Championship football, it’s likely he will want a guarantee over playing time and with Josh Maja, Will Lankshear, Daryl Dike and two new arrivals possible, questions will be based as to whether he will receive that here.
The remaining hours of the window promise to provide many more twists.
