West Brom line up three Deadline Day exits, Gianluca Frabotta one

West Brom are exploring their options to move Gianluca Frabotta on with two other Deadline Day exits expected, according to DOOD.

The reliable Albion X account posted on 3 February that youngsters Harry Whitwell and Ollie Bostock are set to make loan moves away from The Hawthorns, with Frabotta also on the outer.

Frabotta has made just seven appearances for the Baggies and is yet to start a Championship match while Bostock is yet to make his first-team debut and Whitwell has only featured in the EFL Cup.

Albion are also “waiting on a few deals” in terms of additions to Tony Mowbray’s squad, but with less than 12 hours of the transfer window yet, the ins and outs are expected to happen quickly.

West Brom make room for new transfers with trio set for exit

Sending Bostock and Whitwell on loan to lower-league clubs could do wonders for their development, with both players’ pathways to the first team blocked by their inexperience and Albion’s squad depth.

Whitwell is already attracting attention from League One and Two clubs, while Bostock’s stock is also high after his displays for the Baggies’ academy and he’ll have plenty of potential suitors.

Frabotta, meanwhile, is in a wildly different position, having failed to make much of an impact since arriving at the Hawthorns from Juventus just last summer despite Albion having a dearth of left-backs.

Carlos Corberan and latterly boss Chris Brunt both saw fit to play Torbjorn Heggem, a centre-back, ahead of him on the left side of defence, with Frabotta’s six league appearances all being from the bench.

It remains to be seen if the Baggies have left enough time for them to secure a suitable exit route for Frabotta, but if that’s what it takes to ensure incomings the other way, expect them to do just that.
