Shilen Patel shares message to West Brom fans after transfer window
West Brom fans have been sent a message on social media by Shilen Patel following the closing of the transfer window.
The owner at The Hawthorns has been praised along with Andrew Nestor following a successful window which saw Adam Armstrong, Tammer Bany, Will Lankshear and Isaac Price brought in.
Alex Palmer was a notable departure, though most Albion fans were certainly not begrudging him his well-earned Premier League opportunity with Ipswich Town.
Shilen Patel fires up West Brom fans
Patel shared on his X account following Nestor’s in-house interview (6 February): “Our work to elevate the club on and off the pitch continues.”
The figurehead at The Hawthorns has created a harmony around the Baggies’ support which has only increased with the appointment of Tony Mowbray and the winter window.
Patel and Nestor were operating with one hand behind their backs for much of the summer window, following EFL-imposed restrictions.
Once they were eased, Mikey Johnston was immediately brought back on a permanent deal from Celtic, and in the recently closed window, Albion picked up where they left off.
They appear to be giving promotion a serious go, having built a sturdy side last season which were just pipped in the end by eventual play-off winners Southampton.

Three home games in four now crucial
West Brom remain inside the top six of the Championship by a thread, following Middlesbrough’s failed chance to capitalise against Sunderland on Monday (3 February).
Under Mowbray’s returning reign so far, the Baggies won their home game against Portsmouth convincingly with a 5-1 scoreline, unfortunately, sandwiched by away defeats at Middlesbrough and Plymouth Argyle.
Three of the next four contests come at home, starting against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday (8 February), giving Mowbray’s men a chance to establish an improved run of form, bolstered by a revamped transfer window-inspired attack to turn draws into wins.
