West Brom v Oxford United result predicted by supercomputer

West Brom take on Oxford United in Championship action this weekend, with a supercomputer predicting the most likely outcome.

West Brom welcome Oxford to The Hawthorns on Saturday (22 February) looking to turn around their inconsistent form.

That has been a theme since Tony Mowbray replaced Carlos Corberan in the dugout, with some supporters already growing restless after the recent loss to Blackburn Rovers.

A home match against an Oxford side down in 15th in the Championship should present Albion with a good opportunity to pick up a first win in three attempts.

West Brom record vs Oxford United

The most recent encounter between West Brom and Oxford finished as a 1-1 draw at the Kassam Stadium in October, with Alex Palmer coming in for criticising after that game.

West Brom have won just one of their last eight league games against Oxford, meanwhile, although they have not met in the league at The Hawthorns since March 1999.

However, to put a different spin on that, Oxford have won just one of their 11 away league games against West Brom (D2 L8), failing to keep a single clean sheet during that time.

According to the data, then, Albion are the strong favourites to come out on top at The Hawthorns in what is a big game for Mowbray so early into his tenure.

Should the match go the way of the form book and the Baggies do indeed come out on top, confidence will be restored among the fanbase heading into a crunch period of the season.

After the visit of Oxford comes a trip to leaders Leeds United, a home match with QPR and a trip to Burnley, so now really is the perfect time for Mowbray‘s men to find a run of form and finally kick on.
