West Brom make Coventry ticket request after ‘Crazy’ announcement

West Brom are preparing for one last push in the Championship as they look to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Tony Mowbray’s men currently sit sixth in the Championship, with important away games against Coventry and Bristol City around the corner.

The upcoming trip to Coventry has already caused a stir, though, with Baggies fans outraged by the official pricing of tickets, which have now been confirmed.

West Brom have been priced out of Coventry

West Brom fans are eager to get behind their team for the run-in, but the pricing for their fixture against Coventry (18 April) left people flabbergasted.

With both teams sitting just inside the play-offs, charging fans £37 for tickets appears to be taking advantage of them, when a packed stadium would be more likely with cheaper prices.

BBC journalist Steve Hermon revealed that the Baggies have asked Coventry to lower their prices as their fans have only paid a maximum of £30 for the reverse fixture earlier this season.

Unfortunately for the West Brom faithful, Coventry have declined that request which means fans will have to dig deeper into their pockets if they want to travel to see that game live.

It will also be an expensive trip for anyone with children, as it was confirmed that kids’ tickets will be £25, which Hermon admitted was “crazy” since they can get a ticket for an entire season at The Hawthorns for cheaper.

West Brom must focus on the football

Even though West Brom fans feel rightly aggrieved about Coventry’s pricing, the entire club must now re-focus and concentrate on the pitch in a bid to turn their recent draws into wins.

The Baggies only sit above seventh-place Bristol City because of their goal difference, and that’s not something they will wish to rely upon by the end of the season.

West Brom have a difficult run of fixtures as they will face a top-six hopeful in each of their next five games in what could be a make-or-break period as they play Norwich, Sunderland, Bristol City, Watford, and then Frank Lampard’s Coventry.
