EFL make ridiculous Karlan Grant announcement after West Brom win v Coventry
West Brom forward Karlan Grant was involved in a ridiculous announcement by the EFL following the 2-0 win against Coventry.
The Baggies ended a streak of four draws with the victory at The Hawthorns which was a huge relief for Carlos Corberan.
The 27-year-old scored the second goal to put the game beyond doubt and was rewarded with a place in the Championship Team of the Week as a result.
However, his selection was unjustified as he struggled in a lone-forward role for the majority of the second-half despite the brilliant solo strike.
Grant needs to make bigger impact at West Brom
The Baggies are aiming for a playoff place in the second tier this season but Grant needs to make a bigger impact if they are to succeed.
Albion have struggled to score goals so far this season and Grant is lagging behind strike partner Josh Maja, who has ten goals in 20 league appearances.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old has just five goals and has notched two assists in the same amount of matches. Admittedly, he has played out wide a lot more but Maja cannot hold the goalscoring burden all by himself.

If they are to have any chance of getting into the playoff places, the club needs Grant to get more goals, especially since only one other player than him and Maja has scored more than one goal in the league, Alex Mowatt with four.
The Englishman needs to get back to the type of form that saw him net 18 goals and notch six assists in the 2021-22 season.
Otherwise, the Baggies can kiss goodbye to their faint hopes of promotion back to the Premier League.
