Brandon Thomas-Asante sends message to West Brom fans after 2-0 v Coventry
Brandon Thomas-Asante sent a message to the West Brom supporters after the 2-0 victory against Coventry.
The Baggies comfortably beat Frank Lampard’s side to get their playoff push back on track and end a run of four draws in the Championship.
The ex-Albion striker came off the substitutes bench in the 62nd minute but failed to torment his former club despite Sky Blues fans rattling the home supporters with a chant about him.
Thomas-Asante took to his personal Instagram account to thank both sets of supporters, saying: “Frustrating one to take but travelling support was amazing as always, appreciate you all.
“Nice to see so many familiar faces as well, and appreciate the warm reception.”
West Brom fans have the last laugh
The ex-Salford attacker was a fan favourite at The Hawthorns and it surprised supporters when he moved on in the summer transfer window.
The Ghana international netted 21 times in his stint with the Baggies, scoring 12 goals last season under Carlos Corberan.
Albion could use his goals this season, after Josh Maja, who has 10 goals in 20 appearances, their next top scorer is Karlan Grant with five and Alex Mowatt with four.

After those, only four other players have one league goal to their name so far this campaign.
Thomas-Asante has struggled since the switch with just one goal and one assist in 19 league matches for the Sky Blues.
Although the visiting support had rattled them with a chant of “Thomas-Asante he left cause you’re [expletive]”, the Albion fans had the last laugh.
In other West Brom news, Corberan has been sent a message by ‘unstoppable’ Eseosa Sule.
