Jamie Carragher predicts West Brom clash v Norwich as ‘slip up’ claim made

Jamie Carragher is expecting a tight battle between Norwich City and West Brom at Carrow Road on Saturday.

West Brom will look to return to winning ways when they lock horns with Norwich in the Championship on 29 March, having been held to a 1-1 draw by 19th-placed Hull City before the international break.

The Baggies are currently placed sixth in the table and occupy a playoff spot. However, with seventh-placed Bristol City sitting level on points with them, they cannot afford further slip-ups.

Therefore, Tony Mowbray will be hopeful of taking advantage of Norwich’s poor run of form, which has seen them go four consecutive games without a win.

However, the Sky Sports pundit expects a twist in the playoff race, tipping Millwall to hold Sunderland to a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light.

Predicting the weekend’s games for Sky Sports’ Super 6, Carragher said: “Sunderland will slip up at home to Millwall and West Brom will keep their play-off place with a win at Norwich. 1-0 [for Albion].”

Albion to shake off away struggles

While Carragher expects West Brom to come out on top against Norwich, Mowbray will be concerned about his team’s away record this season.

It is worth noting that Albion have won only four of their 19 away games in the Championship this season, with their last victory coming in November.

The Baggies have drawn three and lost two of their five matches on the road, and it remains to be seen if they can set that record straight at Carrow Road on Saturday.

A win could see the West Midlands outfit climb up to fifth place in the table, with Coventry City facing second-placed Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Friday, 28 March.
