Grady Diangana transfer bombshell: ‘Deal done’ as new offer emerges at West Brom

Grady Diangana is facing an uncertain future at West Brom as his contract runs out at the end of the season.

The Congo international is due to end his six-year association with the Baggies and leave The Hawthorns as a free agent this summer, as things stand.

It emerged earlier in March that West Brom have scheduled a new round of talks with Diangana with hopes of tying him down to a new deal.

However, it is unclear if that negotiation has already taken place or whether that will do any good, as the attacker is said to have ‘no real incentive’ to remain in the West Midlands.

Diangana in talks elsewhere, offer received

It is increasingly likely that Diangana will not be at West Brom next season, as he is already in talks with another club over a transfer this summer.

Istanbul Basaksehir have opened talks over signing the 26-year-old on a free transfer, according to AfricaFoot.

The news outlet reported via their website on Thursday (27 March) that the Turkish club are pushing to strike an agreement, having already offered him a three-year contract.

Meanwhile, Diangana’s departure from West Brom appears to be a ‘done deal’, with talks over a contract extension failing.

Several clubs are said to be determined to take advantage of the former West Ham United ace’s situation, but Basaksehir are seemingly leading the pack.

West Brom and Diangana to part ways

West Brom signed Diangana on a season-long loan from West Ham in 2019 before making the move permanent the following year.

However, the Congolese has struggled to live up to expectations at The Hawthorns, with his time with the Baggies filled with highs and lows.

The left-footer notched seven goals and eight assists in 38 Championship appearances last season, but has amassed only six goal contributions this time.

Therefore, it is better for both the club and the player to part ways this summer.
