Steven Gerrard now in running for West Brom job as latest next manager odds shared
West Brom are making progress in their search for a new manager after Tony Mowbray was sacked on Easter Monday.
The Baggies have targeted St Pauli manager Alexander Blessin, whose side look likely to retain their Bundesliga status after winning promotion last term.
Meanwhile, West Brom interim boss James Morrison steered the Baggies to a 0-0 draw with Cardiff City on Saturday.
Don Goodman has suggested the Black Country outfit should eye a move for Stockport County boss Dave Challinor, while Steven Gerrard may also now be in the race.

Gerrard level with Rusell Martin in West Brom manager odds
Mowbray’s successor will be tasked with guiding the Albion to their second playoff finish in three seasons, after Carlos Corberan steered the Baggies to fifth place last season.
According to Oddschecker, the current favourite to take the managerial reins at The Hawthorns is Queens Park Rangers boss Marti Cifuentes.
Meanwhile, Gerrard is tied with Russell Martin, Rob Edwards, Will Still and Luke Williams at 16/1.

West Brom should be wary of Gerrard appointment
Liverpool legend Gerrard should always command respect for the stellar job he did in charge of Scottish Premiership giants Rangers, after winning the 2020/21 top-flight title with the Ibrox side.

However, his only managerial stint with a senior team in England came with Aston Villa, where he struggled in the Premier League and was sacked in October 2022 after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Fulham.
After being sacked by the Villa Park club, Gerrard stayed out of management until the summer of 2023, when he took charge of Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ettifaq.
The Liverpudlian failed to steer Al-Ettifaq to success in Saudi Arabia and left via mutual consent last January.
West Brom should be wary of appointing Gerrard, who has failed to perform well in each of his last two jobs and has no previous Championship experience.
The likes of Cifuentes, who has previously done well at QPR, would arguably be a better fit to take up the managerial duties at The Hawthorns than Gerrard.
