West Brom suffer Ryan Mason setback
One of the favourites for the West Brom position is Mason. The former England international is currently the assistant manager at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou.
The 33-year-old is highly rated in the industry and has already been in charge of Tottenham’s first team twice as interim manager.
Now, West Brom are reportedly ready to give him his first full-time role as manager, but they may have to wait until after Spurs’ Europa League campaign to appoint him.
This is because Mason wants to see the season out at Spurs to ensure they come away with their first trophy since 2008.

Marti Cifuentes’ odds to West Brom crash
Another favourite was the West Brom job is Marti Cifuentes. The QPR manager has impressed since he took over the London club last season and has guided them to Championship safety in back-to-back years.
However, rumours have begun to circulate that the Spaniard is looking to leave the side this summer.
Cifuentes was placed on gardening leave by QPR last month as rumours linked the manager to West Brom.
Now, the Spaniard’s odds of becoming the new West Brom manager have plummeted to just 2/1, suggesting there has been a development behind the scenes.

Stockport County manager Dave Challinor becomes contender
While Mason and Cifuentes are no doubt the favourites to become West Brom’s new manager, there have been plenty of other names linked.
Former Wolves manager Gary O’Neil has been a recent outsider for the Baggies role.
However, Stockport County manager Dave Challinor has been the most recent name added to the mix.
The 49-year-old has been at the Hatters since 2021 and has overseen their rise from the National League to the League One playoffs.
