Ruben Selles ‘perfect fit’ for West Brom as he ‘jumps to the top of the pile’

West Brom have still not appointed a new manager after Tony Mowbray was sacked.

Mowbray was sacked at the Albion in April, with James Morrison seeing out the remaining first-team games until the end of the season.

However, West Brom’s campaign has now been over for weeks, with no appointment in sight.

Ryan Mason remains the favourite for the Baggies job, and the Black Country club could be waiting for Tottenham’s season to finish before making a move.

Yet, West Brom fans instead want to see Ruben Selles appointed after he was sacked by Hull City.

West Brom fans want Ruben Selles as next Baggies manager

In the hunt for West Brom’s next manager, one name who has recently been mentioned is Selles.

The 41-year-old was surprisingly sacked by Hull City this week despite guiding them to Championship safety after less than a season in charge.

As a result, Selles has now entered the running for the West Brom position and could make a quick return to the management scene.

Multiple Baggies fans are keen to see him appointed, highlighting his good work at his last two clubs.

Ruben Selles would be an excellent appointment for West Brom

While Selles might not have the best win percentage in his management career, many of his jobs have been under incredibly difficult circumstances.

The fact that he kept Reading up last season and had them fighting for the play-offs before he left for Hull in December is a miracle.

Ruben Selles’ managerial recordYearsWin percentage
Southampton 202311.76 per cent
Reading 2023-2443.59 per cent
Hull City2024-2532.14 per cent
Selles has earned a good managerial reputation despite his poor win percentage

On top of this, the Tigers are not exactly an easy place to manage, with the Championship outfit now searching for their third manager in a year.

Without these restrictions, Selles could do very well, and West Brom may be an ideal club for the Spaniard.

Hopefully, the 41-year-old is at least on the Baggies shortlist as the end of May approaches.
