West Brom ‘line up Darnell Furlong replacement’ as transfer news emerges
West Brom could be preparing for life without Darnell Furlong next season.
The 29-year-old has been an ever-present at The Hawthorns since joining the Albion from Queens Park Rangers back in 2019.
With the season now over, a return to Loftus Road could be in the pipeline for the Englishman ahead of the summer window’s opening date.
As a result, it is little surprise that the Baggies would want to have a replacement primed and ready for Furlong’s seemingly likely departure.

Furlong alternative sounded out at West Brom
It will take a lot to find an adequate replacement for the right-back, given how positive his stint has been over the last six years.
His ability defensively as well as his long throw talents, have been effective for the B71 outfit across a variety of managers in the Championship and Premier League.
As a result, his exit could represent a blow if he isn’t adequately replaced by the managerless Albion as the summer window rolls on.
This has now seen the Black Country outfit emerge in the running to sign James Dornelly from Peterborough United [Football League World, 28 May].
The 20-year-old is highly rated by the Posh after making 27 League One appearances in his breakout League One campaign.

The Baggies will face competition from the likes of Fulham, Coventry City, Blackburn Rovers and Oxford United for his signature, which could come as a blow.
With that being said, the prospect of regular first-team football as a replacement for Furlong could be a telling factor to tempt the youngster into a Hawthorns switch.

West Brom could make Dornelly coup
With the level of side interested in the two-time EFL Trophy winner, it just shows how much of a useful signing he would be for the Baggies.
If the Albion could land his signature ahead of a Premier League outfit like Fulham, this would showcase their ambition moving into the new season.
This could allow Furlong to move on and help form a progressive defensive line at The Hawthorns alongside the likes of Torbjorn Heggem.
