‘Bilkul sanction six-figure West Brom refurb, I’ve been told’

Bilkul Football have overseen plenty of changes since their takeover of West Brom back in February.

Shilen Patel and Co. have brought plenty of optimism for Baggies fans so far, having begun to gradually resolve their financial issues and slowly bringing stability and normality back to the West Midlands outfit.

They have also overseen their first managerial change, with the recent appointment of Ryan Mason representing a brave, but measured decision by the club’s board.

As a result, everyone at the club will have designs on mounting a genuine promotion push next term, as West Brom continue to seek a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2021.

Bilkul splash six-figure sum on Hawthorns refurb

West Brom look like they are in a good place on the footballing side of things as we head into the new Championship season.

Isaac Price’s recent emergence is expected to see him establish himself as a star alongside Tom Fellows, and the pair will be expected to spearhead the Baggies’ push for a top-flight return next year.

However, things are also looking good off the pitch for West Brom, with Bilkul having spent a six-figure sum on a refurbishment at The Hawthorns, according to Joe Chapman (19 June).

The American group have sanctioned a major refurbishment at the Brummie Road end of the ground, which includes a jet wash and a fresh lick of paint.

The Astle gates have also had a facelift, with Chapman adding that he has been told the refurbishment has cost Albion’s owners “hundreds of thousands of pounds.”

West Brom need Premier League football

The Hawthorns’ recent refresh is another indication of the care that Bilkul have for the club as its owners.

In the current footballing climate, ownership issues have been prevalent across the EFL in recent years, but it will be hugely encouraging for Baggies fans to know that they have a group with a determination to succeed in charge.

However, you get the sense that the club will need to take the next step and secure a return to the Premier League for their owners to really be able to instil significant changes.

The top flight opens the door to a whole world of financial possibilities, and even in the four years that Albion have been away, it has become a totally different animal from what it once was.

If Mason and his squad could haul the club out of the Championship next season, it would provide scope for virtually never-ending possibilities for Bilkul.
