David Brooks bombshell as West Brom transfer collapses with medical complete
David Brooks’ proposed transfer to West Brom has hit the rails.
The Baggies looked set to secure a huge statement of intent with the signing of a top-quality winger for new manager Ryan Mason from Bournemouth.
The Albion had already signed Nat Phillips from Liverpool, and it was shaping up to be a brilliant window for the inexperienced former Tottenham coach.

West Brom deal for Brooks is off
West Brom looked set to sign Brooks after a loan deal had been agreed with Bournemouth, with just the final stages to go.
However, West Brom Xtra (1 July) has reported that Brooks’ move to the Black Country club has collapsed after a medical was completed.
It states that the deal that was in place between the two clubs has fallen apart, and the transfer is off.
Brooks not moving to West Brom is a shame
Brooks has had one of the most heart-jerking stories in football recently, being diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma in 2021 but returning to the pitch in 2023.
He spent the season before last on loan at Southampton as he struggled to win his spot back with the Cherries, and the move to The Hawthorns would have allowed him to rediscover his best form.

Promotion back to the Premier League is the aim for the West Midlands outfit, and adding Brooks to the squad would have taken them a step closer to realising that dream.
However, it appears that it will not happen now, which is a real shame for Mason, as the 27-year-old would have been one of the best attackers in the Championship.
Brooks’ signature would have had the Albion as one of the favourites to secure promotion, but now they are back to square one in their search for new attacking options.
The Baggies seem to be targeting ambitious names, but if they cannot get the deal done for whatever reason, then there is little point in doing so.
If they fail to bring in someone who is a similar quality to the Welsh international, it will be a huge disappointment and could negatively affect their season.
