Torbjorn Heggem ‘to stay at West Brom’ as fans love new update
West Brom defender Torbjorn Heggem has been linked with a move away from the Hawthorns this summer.
The Norwegian played a vital role for the Baggies last season, appearing in all but one Championship match.
A powerful force in both the centre and left of the defence, Heggem bagged players’ player and supporters’ player of the season following the end of the latest campaign.

West Brom fans delight at Heggem return
Heggem joined the Baggies in the summer of 2024, joining from Swedish side Brommapojkarna and signing a three-year deal.
And it was in December that the Norwegian opened his account for the Albion, rising highest to head home against Sheffield United.
Versatile and comfortable with the ball at his feet, Heggem has established himself among West Brom’s most important players.
But the club’s disappointing slump to a ninth-placed finish in the Championship prompted rumours of the defender’s departure this summer.
Serie A side Bologna have been among those linked extensively, but are yet to materialise their interest into a bid.
West Brom fans are convinced Heggem is staying, however, with one fan claiming: “I just know he isn’t leaving.”
West Brom must prove ambition to Heggem
Should Bologna prove their interest with a bid for Heggem, it will be, understandably, difficult to stop the defender’s head from being turned.
Bologna finished ninth in Serie A last season, just three points away from European football, and have a history of sculpting fine defenders.

However, Heggem may be swayed into a Baggies stay, if the club can prove their ambition for a Premier League return.
Ryan Mason’s arrival will surely inspire confidence within the squad, but impressive incomings will rule supreme in marking the club’s aspirations.
Links to Mikey Moore and David Brooks, along with the signing of Nat Phillips, have made for a positive start to the window, but Heggem will hope to see exciting new teammates soon walk through the doors at the Hawthorns.
