Josh Maja update emerges amid West Brom concerns
Josh Maja has been out of action at West Brom since January after undergoing surgery for an injury.
West Brom have had very little to shout home about over the last 12 months, and much of that has been down to the absence of Maja.
Since the striker picked up an injury in training in January, goals had dried up at The Hawthorns, with very few players capable of matching the output set by the 26-year-old.
His availability could prove to be key for the Baggies’ chance at progressing under Ryan, with a new update emerging after concern was voiced.

West Brom return for pre-season, no sight of Maja
In the last few days, Albion have reported back for pre-season training, though several players have been absent.
Isaac Price was one of them, as were the likes of Tom Fellows and Torbjorn Heggem, all of whom had been away on international duty and given an extended break as a result.
West Brom | Games | Goals | Assists |
Maja | 26 | 12 | 2 |
However, the same can not be said for Maja, who has spent the last six months trying to recover from injury, which is why he has not been spotted in any of the pre-season footage shared by the club over the past week.
West Brom fans had voiced some concern over his absence, but DOOD has since confirmed that the striker is still on a personal training programme, in a bid to get back to full fitness before the new Championship campaign gets underway.
Mason needs Maja fit and raring to go
It’s an old saying, but goals win games, and Maja has the ability to provide them by the boatload when he is fit and available for selection.
Signing a new striker needs to be high up on the list of priorities, though ensuring Maja stays fit will be just as key to their chances of progressing.
West Brom are expected to be busy for the remainder of the summer transfer window, with Mason in need of some financial backing.
