West Brom ‘to make pure profit’ from Caleb Taylor after exit latest – Exclusive
West Brom have picked up the pace in the transfer window in preparation for the new Championship season.
Nat Phillips was the first significant arrival under Ryan Mason, joining from Premier League champions Liverpool.
Jack Bray arrived from Harrogate Town, while Aune Heggebo is set to join West Brom from SK Brann.
There is likely to be departures at The Hawthorns next, and Caleb Taylor has garnered interest.

West Brom can make substantial profit from Taylor
West Brom have reportedly rejected a bid from Millwall for Taylor, with the Baggies valuing him at up to £3million already.
Taylor spent the majority of last season on loan with Wycombe Wanderers, making 39 appearances in total, either side of a brief recall.
Football finance expert Dan Plumley – speaking exclusively to West Brom News – has provided insight on a potential deal and the PSR profit it could bring by selling an academy product.
“Well, it certainly helps, just on a pure numbers equation,” he said.
“It helps because you can book that as pure profit, and we’ve seen a lot of clubs go down that road.
“There’s nothing again to suggest that West Brom have got any real problems with the Football League regulatory-wise wise from what we can see.
“But we’ve talked about them in the past, having run out of parachute payments now and being in that group of clubs that are obviously fighting to get back to a promotion spot within that play-off picture, year to year, but that doesn’t come cheap or easy.
“It’s one of those things where you look at it and you’re trying to balance the financial objectives as well, and obviously selling a player like that if you can.
“If you’re not thinking that he’s part of your plans at the club, then the upside of that is the pure profit you can bank, and that all goes against the bottom line.”

Mason could use Taylor money to fund more signings
At 22 years of age, it is perhaps too soon to predict what Taylor will go on to achieve, but up to £3million for a player who has made just 11 West Brom appearances could be too good to refuse.
While it may not sound like a lot, it would go some way to help Mason sign more players for the Baggies, given recent PSR struggles over the years.
The Championship is stacked with quality next season, and West Brom will need to sign well if they are to challenge for the top six.
