West Brom fans can’t believe what’s been said about Bartley – ‘You have to be joking’
Kyle Bartley’s contract at West Brom was extended in April with the defender now set to spend eight years with the Baggies.
Signing in 2018 from Swansea in a deal worth around £4million, the 34-year-old has made 232 appearances and captains the team.
While unavailable for a chunk of last season, Bartley still made 31 appearances in the Championship, but is expected to play a lesser role under new manager Ryan Mason.

West Brom fans question Bartley post
Confirmation of Bartley’s extended stay at The Hawthorns faced mixed reactions from West Brom fans.
Many moved to point out the defender’s experience, and explained how his leadership would continue to benefit the younger players.
Caleb Taylor is among the players hoping to soak in Bartley’s experience, with the centre-back hoping to become a mainstay in Mason’s defence after impressing last season on loan at Wycombe.

Other fans were quick to highlight the defenders’ age and wages, with Bartley’s stay in the West Midlands likely blocking the path of a new, younger signing this summer.
Nevertheless, the defender will play a part for Mason next season, and Wednesday (July 16) marked his seventh year at the club.
Second Tier Podcast took to social media to share the anniversary, exclaiming: “What a servant he’s been!”
But fans of the Baggies took issue with the statement, with one fan replying: “You have to be joking.”
Bartley splits opinion
Bartley’s involvement next season will ultimately be decided by Mason.
The defender can often be prone to errors, but West Brom have, at times, looked like a better team with the 34-year-old in the lineup.
But given Bartley’s age, his progressive departure from the team is inevitable. While he is here, Mason should make the most of his experience.
