Diakite exit latest as West Brom fans put on red alert over Saudi transfer news
Ryan Mason faces the prospect of losing Ousmane Diakite this transfer window.
Al Qadsiah reportedly made a bid for the Mali national, with clubs in France and Italy also interested in the versatile West Brom midfielder.
Diakite is someone Mason would arguably love to have at the Baggies ahead of next season, and will undoubtedly be delighted with the latest development.

Saudi Arabia interest in Diakite transfer from West Brom dismissed
DOOD has dismissed interest from Saudi Arabia in West Brom midfielder Diakite.
The Baggies’ insider revealed on X (29 July) that there’s “nothing” in reports linking the 25-year-old with an exit from The Hawthorns.
With the Mali ace featuring heavily for the Albion during pre-season, he will definitely be a part of Mason’s plans for the upcoming campaign.

West Brom have lost some key players from last season after their contracts expired, and so far, the English manager’s team has been bolstered with three new signings, with ex-Liverpool defender Nat Phillips being one of them.
Diakite put in some decent performances as a centre-back in the previous campaign, and it will be interesting to see how Mason uses him.
Jayson Molumby and Alex Mowatt were key players for the Baggies in the middle of the park last season, but the Mali national has shown the required talent to break into the starting lineup.
Mason to give Diakite chance to prove himself after Kyle Bartley news
Shilen Patel has taken a gamble by hiring Mason at West Brom, with the former Tottenham assistant head coach having no prior experience of being a first-team manager.
The Baggies have lost a bit of quality from their squad with Grady Diangana and John Swift’s exits, and they should look to make more quality signings before the end of August.
Kyle Bartley could be axed at The Hawthorns in the coming weeks, leaving the door open for Diakite to make a case for himself as a central defender.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Mason give the 25-year-old a chance to finally have consistent game time at the Albion, but only time will tell how his situation will unfold.
