West Brom know what they need to do to sign Ramos after reports in Spain

Cadiz CF striker Chris Ramos could become the latest player to arrive at West Brom this summer.

The Baggies will return to Championship action when they take on Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorns on Saturday (9 August).

Aune Heggebo has been the most significant signing West Brom have made thus far. Heggebo’s pre-season form has already given Albion fans a lot to hope for during the 2025/26 campaign.

However, it seems the Baggies are still keen to add another player to their ranks amid links to Ramos.

Cadiz will accept a £4.3million bid for Ramos

The Baggies have already launched a £2.1million bid for Ramos.

The forward netted 10 goals in the second division in Spain last season and has been linked with a move abroad. Albion would have known they’d need to ward off other interested parties, but agreeing a fee with Cadiz seems to be the most pressing issue at the moment.

Ramos was solid for Cadiz last season

As reported by Diario de Cadiz on Tuesday (5 August), Ramos’ transfer is losing traction not because of a lack of interest, but because a club has not tabled a suitable offer yet.

It is understood that his release clause amounts to around £8.7m, but the Spanish side would be open to selling him for £4.3m. But West Brom will need to act quickly, as Rayo Vallecano is the club that has come closest to meeting Cadiz’s demands.

However, now that the Championship side knows what is needed to secure his transfer, there is an expectation that things could accelerate in the coming days.

Ramos would be a welcome addition at West Brom

Ryan Mason’s team demonstrated their competitive spirit during their 3-2 victory against Rayo at The Hawthorns on Saturday (2 August).

However, Albion have missed that cutting edge, as evidenced by their poor run of pre-season fixtures beforehand. Ramos would improve this issue.

His previous double-digit goalscoring season has shown that he already has a knack for scoring goals. But his overall play allows him to bring others into the game.

Ramos is known for his pace and sharp acceleration and has all the physical attributes to succeed in England. He links up with his teammates well, while his off-the-ball movement allows him to create space for them to run onto the end of goalscoring opportunities.

During a season where goals could be the difference between making the play-offs and another period in the Championship, Ramos would be a welcome addition.
