West Brom already have sights on Torbjorn Heggem replacement as bid flies in
Torbjorn Heggem looks set to leave West Brom this summer.
The Norwegian was one of the best defenders in the Championship last season and won Albion’s Players’ Player of the Year award last season.
Despite Shilen Patel’s work to improve the financial state at The Hawthorns, it is still not fully resolved, which means they may have to let the 26-year-old depart.
It would be a huge blow for Ryan Mason, as he prepares to make his bow in senior management, after two interim roles at Tottenham.

Bologna maintain Heggem pursuit as West Brom looks for replacement
Bologna have tabled a £6.8million bid for the Albion star, but the Baggies will reportedly demand more money than that.
However, it appears that they are preparing for life without Heggem, as details about their transfer plans emerged.
A report from the Telegraph (7 August) claims that Mason is targeting a central midfielder and a centre-back.
It states that talks are ongoing over Heggem, and the Black Country would reluctantly allow a sale.

Heggem will be a huge miss for West Brom
Albion have already brought in Nat Phillips and George Campbell to bolster their defence, but losing Heggem would be a major blow.
He is a colossus at the back, and has formed a nice partnership with Phillips in pre-season, it would be a difficult task to replace him this close to the start of the season.
Opta’s supercomputer has predicted a sixth-place finish for West Brom, but that seems like an unrealistic possibility if the Norway ace is allowed to leave.
If he departs for the Serie A outfit, it would give Mason an uphill task as he tries to secure promotion to the Premier League for the West Midlands side after a five-year absence.
As of right now, he will be available for the second-tier opener with Blackburn (9 July), but the deal may drag on to the late stages of the window.
That could leave Patel and Co. with little time to find a replacement, so they need to identify one as soon as possible, so they can pull the trigger if Heggem leaves.
