West Brom fans convinced Ryan Mason will get new goalkeeper after official announcement
West Brom have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer window, and are beginning the season with an incomplete squad.
The Baggies face Blackburn Rovers on the opening day, but there have been few improvements to the squad since the end of last season.
Ryan Mason has taken charge of the team, but just three new signings have arrived to support him in his first senior management job.
Centre-backs Nat Phillips and George Campbell have joined as well as striker Aune Heggebo, but West Brom fans are now convinced that one position will be strengthened before the end of the window.

West Brom fans excited after squad number announcement
Some West Brom fans are eager for a new goalkeeper to be signed to replace Josh Griffiths, and they may now get their wish.
The Baggies have now confirmed their official squad numbers for the upcoming season, and no one has taken the number one shirt, typically worn by the first choice goalkeeper.
Goalkeeper | Squad number |
Josh Griffiths | 20 |
Joe Wildsmith | 23 |
Ben Cisse | 42 |
Joe Wallis | 45 |
Alex Palmer wore the shirt during his loan spell from Ipswich Town last season, but Griffiths and Joe Wildsmith have elected not to take it now, indicating that a new goalkeeper could join to take it.
Fans have now taken to X to explain this theory, with some now convinced that Mason will bring a new goalkeeper in before the window closes.
Does Mason have faith in Griffiths?
Griffiths is still young and impressed on loan at Bristol Rovers at the start of last season, but many are convinced he is not yet ready to be the starter for West Brom.
The 23-year-old has had an inconsistent pre-season campaign, and Mason may not have liked what he saw if he is to then pursue a more experienced goalkeeper.
Angus Gunn was reportedly targeted before his move to Nottingham Forest, and it remains to be seen what the goalkeeping market will look like heading towards the end of the window.
Griffiths is likely to start the season, and the first few games could give Mason an indication over whether he should stick with the young starlet or pursue a new number one by the end of August.
