West Brom to turn to loan market as Oladapo Afolayan update drops
Ryan Mason will be hoping for several more arrivals at West Brom before September.
Three new arrivals have checked in at The Hawthorns this summer, and all three look to be a great addition to a West Brom side chasing promotion back to the Premier League.
However, Mason will be well aware of the need for more, with a striker likely on Albion’s agenda given the fitness of Daryl Dike and Josh Maja.
The Baggies will have money to spend, and as per the latest reports, they are intent on adding more new faces to Mason’s squad.

Oladapo Afolayan update in new transfer reveal
Oladapo Afolayan had been quietly mooted for a move to West Brom, though those rumours have since been quashed by DOOD via X, who claims the next arrival could be a loan.
His post reads: “No substance in the Oladapo Afolayan rumours. Next stop, the loan market for a different target.”
Albion are yet to bring in a loan signing this summer, meaning they still have five matchday spots available for that criterion should they go down that route.
West Brom’s summer signings as of 11 August.
- Nat Phillips – Liverpool
- George Campbell – Montreal
- Aune Heggebo – SK Brann
Championship sides can, in theory, sign as many as they want, though that is the limit to how many can feature in any given matchday squad.
They are likely to arrive from the Premier League, and quite often don’t emerge until the latter stages of the window when those in the top flight have concluded the business of their own.
West Brom need to make the most of transfer window after opening results
Mason’s side are not expected to finish at the top of the table, but the opening day results showcase why it is vitally important for more signings.
Sheffield United lost, Ipswich had to settle for a point, while Southampton and Leicester scraped through their respective games.
The gap between those sides and Albion can be bridged, but only if West Brom make the most of the final few weeks of the window.
