Every injury Daryl Dike has had at West Brom as USA striker speaks out about latest blow
Daryl Dike has struggled with continual injury issues since West Brom signed him in 2022.
Dike, 25, has missed the start of the new Championship season after sustaining a thigh injury during pre-season this summer, adding to his ever-growing list of setbacks.
Frustratingly for West Brom fans, the USA striker has always looked promising whenever he’s taken to the pitch.
However, countless injuries have seen him watch all the action from the sidelines. As such, Dike’s future at Albion has been put under the microscope in recent weeks.

Dike has sustained six injuries since arriving at West Brom
West Brom have started their new Championship campaign with wins against Blackburn and Wrexham without Dike being in Ryan Mason’s squad after his summer injury setback.
When news of his latest blow did the rounds on social media, a lot of fans lacked sympathy and it’s since led to Dike sharing his mental struggles on TikTok.
There is no doubt that Mason will be keen to thrust the ex-Barnsley loanee into the action upon his return. But his long injury record may force him to have another think.
A hamstring injury in January 2022 was the first in a long line of injuries for Dike.
- It took place during his first start for Albion against Peterborough United
- Dike was ruled out for the remainder of the 2021/22 season
The 2022/23 season was not a pleasant one for the striker. Soon after returning to fitness, he suffered a minor thigh injury during a summer training session. This set him back another couple of weeks.
In April 2023, Dike suffered an Achilles tendon rupture during a Championship match against Stoke City. It required surgery, which saw him sidelined for at least six months.
As fate would have it, Dike sustained a right Achilles tendon rupture soon after recovering from the one to his left side.
- It occurred in a game against Ipswich Town upon his substitution
- Dike underwent surgery and was ruled out for the remainder of the 2023/24 season
The striker then suffered a minor hamstring setback as he neared a return to training in October 2024. This delayed his recovery by weeks.
Dike is now working towards a return following his latest thigh injury. It is not believed that he will take to the pitch until after the September international break.
What was West Brom’s injury record last season?
West Brom went through their fair share of injuries during the 2024/25 season.
The Baggies saw approximately 20 injuries throughout the season, with Kyle Bartley, George Campbell and Jed Wallace among the recurring injuries.
Mason will be expecting better this season if he stands any hope of performing in the Championship. But with Dike’s imminent return, the Baggies may soon be handed another boost.
