‘I’m not going to lie…’ – Daryl Dike sends heartbreaking video message to West Brom fans

Daryl Dike has taken to TikTok to share an emotional message to West Brom fans.

The Baggies striker sustained a thigh injury during pre-season and has been sidelined with the latest in a long line of fitness issues since his move to The Hawthorns.

Dike is yet to play a part for West Brom this season, and it is thought that it could be after the September international break before he makes his return to the fold.

Ryan Mason has overseen a promising start to the season in B71, but Dike has now made it clear that he has felt somewhat detached from events at the club recently.

Daryl Dike opens up in TikTok message

Dike has looked bright for West Brom when he has been fit, but the American has one of the most unfortunate injury records of any player in the entire Football League over the last few years.

Muscular injuries plagued the frontman during his first few months with the Black Country outfit after joining in January of 2022, followed by two nightmare ruptures of his achilles tendon.

The former Barnsley star’s torrid run of bad luck on the injury front has seen him start just one game in the last two seasons, and he is yet to play a part under Mason in competitive action.

The 25-year-old is usually an extremely positive and upbeat character, and as such, has an excellent relationship with the Baggies faithful.

However, he has now shared a message that will break the hearts of everybody at The Hawthorns.

Dike took to TikTok to reveal that he has been struggling mentally of late.

“I haven’t posted on here for a little bit, or social media in general, just because I’ve been pretty upset, I’m not going to lie,” the striker said.

“I’ve been sad and I’ve been keeping it to myself, which is weird, because I’m usually someone who is very active on social media.

“I’m usually very happy and smiley because I love being around people, but I’ve not been by myself recently. I’ve probably been a little bit embarrassed just because of how many times it’s happened, how many times I’ve been injured.”

Dike then went on to suggest that he will be more active on his social media channels, and is now in a much more positive mindset, which will certainly please Baggies fans.

Daryl Dike will be a useful asset to West Brom when fit

Dike has been tipped to leave West Brom this summer, but he now looks destined to remain and be a part of Mason’s squad.

If the new boss can get him fit and firing, then he could have a very effective option on his hands to lead the line.

The American brings power and physicality and is a proven goalscorer at Championship level, and his return should help to ease the burden that is currently on Aune Heggebo.
