Glen Kamara most likely destination named as West Brom open talks for midfield gem
West Brom are hoping to be active in the final week of the transfer window, with exciting news now emerging on Glen Kamara.
Ryan Mason has been recruiting new players this summer such as centre-back Krystian Bielik, who was absent for the 1-1 draw against Portsmouth.
The Baggies have started well in the Championship, recording seven points out of a possible nine, although Mason insists there is still room for improvement.
Kamara has emerged as a potential target to bolster their midfield. He had a great season in the Championship for Leeds before being sold to Rennes last summer.
A signing like that would certainly boost West Brom‘s chances of competing for promotion this season.

West Brom want to sign Glen Kamara on loan
Mason has identified a deep-lying midfielder as a position where his team lacks strength in depth.
That’s a position where Kamara has excelled for Leeds two years ago and Rennes last season.
The Ligue 1 side are willing to let Kamara go for a sensible fee, and there are believed to be several clubs across Europe monitoring him.
L’Equipe reports that Bologna, FC Copenhagen and West Brom are the teams most interested in the Finnish midfield star, with the Serie A side labelled as the favourites to sign him.
It is claimed that any move this summer would likely be on an initial loan with an option to buy.

Deep-lying midfielder could be missing piece of puzzle for West Brom
West Brom fans will be confident in their team’s ability to fight for a playoff spot at the very least.
They have a dazzling array of attacking options, including Isaac Price who is being praised from all angles. due to his electric form.
The sale of Torbjorn Heggem arguably weakens their defence, although they’ll be hoping that Bielik proves to be an adequate replacement for him.
A deep-lying midfielder who can consistently control the game at Championship level may therefore be the missing piece of the puzzle for the Baggies.
A midfielder should help West Brom be able to:
- Keep the ball better
- Break up play
- Prevent the opposition from creating chances on the break.
It looks like West Brom are outsiders to land Kamara, so they may have to look elsewhere for players of his ilk.
With that said, they have money to throw around following the sale of Heggem to Bologna, so they could be tempted to outbid their rivals to get Kamara in the door.
