West Brom pave way for Caleb Taylor exit as new transfer update emerges
West Brom have started well in the Championship season, with Ryan Mason remaining unbeaten in his first three games in charge.
As the transfer window approaches it’s close, West Brom are still looking for more reinforcements as they look to achieve promotion to the Premier League following a four-year absence.
West Brom already signed the impressive Nat Phillips at the start of the window but the Baggies are in the market for another imposing centre-back.

Filip Beckman move could allow Caleb Taylor to leave
According to West Brom insider Dood, Albion have concrete interest in Swedish defender Filip Beckman, and completion of his transfer would allow for Caleb Taylor to leave the club.
West Brom have already rejected a £3million bid from Millwall but the acquisition of GAIS defender Beckman could speed up Taylor’s exit from The Hawthorns.
Taylor enjoyed an impressive loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers last campaign, narrowly missing out on promotion in the League One play-offs.
- Made 39 appearances for Wycombe in the 2024/25 season
- Scored three goals and helped guide Wycombe to fifth-placed finish
- Achieved 70.6 per cent of duels won and 74.4 per cent of aerial duels won
Despite these numbers, Taylor has made just 12 appearances for the first team, and it seems Mason could view a deal of over £3m as too good to refuse.
With West Brom facing concerns over PSR this summer, a fee of this amount for Taylor would be great business for the Baggies.

Beckman can become key component of Baggies’ defence
The 22-year-old plays for Swedish side GAIS and has already racked up 15 appearances in the 2025 domestic season.
The towering left-footed centre-back has been hugely impressive for GAIS, who find themselves in the unlikely hunt for a European spot.
American international George Campbell started the recent 1-1 draw at home to Portsmouth on the left side of the defence, despite being right-footed
With room to improve, Beckman would command a cheap fee and offer the Baggies a different profile of defender.
