West Brom ready free transfer for Kortney Hause, but there’s a catch
Ryan Mason could potentially still see more signings coming through the door at West Brom with the arrival of Kortney Hause on a free transfer.
The Baggies had a hectic end to the previous transfer window after Darnell Furlong joined Ipswich Town, and they also lost Tom Fellows to Southampton just before deadline day.
Torbjorn Heggem is another key player that the Albion sold recently, but Andrew Nestor has invested that money admirably at The Hawthorns by signing the likes of Chris Mepham and Alfie Gilchrist.
It looks like there may yet be more activity to bolster the backline in the coming weeks, but the Black Country outfit may have to tackle a couple of obstacles.

Kortney Hause in demand amid transfer interest from West Brom
Blackburn Rovers and Derby County are also in the race to sign Hause as a free agent, according to SportsBoom.
The news outlet reported on 4 September that a deal for the 30-year-old is being explored at The Hawthorns as the Baggies look to give the defender an opportunity after his fitness issues in recent seasons.
It’s been claimed that the West Midlands outfit have been keeping a close eye on the English centre-back’s situation for some time now, but they will have to contend with competition from their Championship rivals.
Hause’s situation is definitely something fans in B71 will keep an eye on as they hope to continue their fine form in the league.

Ryan Mason gunning for Premier League promotion at The Hawthorns
Mason is expected to make the Championship play-offs, and with the way things are going, it seems likely that the Baggies will achieve a top-six finish this season.
The Albion seem to have made some astute additions to their team with the likes of Nat Phillips, Mepham and Aune Heggebo.
Josh Griffiths also looks much more comfortable in between the sticks after a poor stint in the previous campaign.
West Brom have a solid partnership with Phillips and Mepham that could potentially form the backbone of their success in the coming months.
While Hause won’t come in to be a starter, his presence will arguably add much-needed depth at centre-back, with George Campbell and Krystian Bielik the other options.
The former Villa defender’s arrival shouldn’t make or break the Albion’s season, but they have the right idea with seemingly trying to bolster their squad with free agents.
