Karlan Grant transfer from West Brom still on cards as January claim emerges
West Brom could potentially see Karlan Grant leave in the January transfer window.
With less than one year remaining on the Englishman’s deal at the Baggies, the Baggies risk losing him for free next summer.
Derby County wanted to sign Grant in the previous transfer window, but the attacker ended up staying at the Albion.
Ryan Mason will look to count on Samuel Iling-Junior this season after his loan move from Aston Villa, and that may mean the end of the 27-year-old’s stint in B71.

Derby County still have chance to sign Karlan Grant from West Brom
Derby may have the opportunity to sign Grant from the Baggies in January, Adrian Goldberg says.
The BBC Radio WM journalist hasn’t ruled out the England forward’s exit from The Hawthorns in the coming months, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll move to Pride Park.
While John Eustace’s team wanted the attacker last summer, it wouldn’t make sense for them to spend money on his arrival at the start of next year when they could potentially get him for free.
Speaking on The Liquidator on 9 September, The Rams Review’s Nigel Owens said: “And the other one we were linked with, not for the first time this summer, was Grant as well.”
Goldberg responded: “Well, January, still a chance, I would say.”

Karlan Grant and four others out of contract at The Hawthorns
Grant is currently on the sidelines at The Hawthorns as his fitness issue has been deemed worse than previously thought.
The Englishman revived his career at the Baggies after returning from a loan spell at Cardiff City, demonstrating immense mental fortitude.
While the forward was a key player for Mason in the opening games of the season, he may have to compete for his place in the starting lineup after returning from the sidelines.
- Grant made 43 appearances in the Championship last season.
- The forward scored seven league goals in the previous campaign.
- The attacker has played for England at the Under-19 level.
West Brom fans will be glad to see Josh Maja in action, but with interest in the striker on deadline day, the Baggies need to do something about his deal that concludes at the end of the campaign.
Dary Dike is another centre-forward who will be free to speak with other clubs in January over the prospect of signing a pre-contract, along with Jed Wallace.
With Josh Griffiths cementing his place in the starting lineup, Joe Wildsmith may also have a decision to make regarding his future, as his deal is also set to expire.
