Norway fans fume at ‘disrespectful’ Aune Heggebo footage as West Brom star mocked – ‘So poor’
Aune Heggebo reached a career milestone away from West Brom as Norway beat Moldova 11-1 on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old made his debut for the Landslaget after replacing Erling Haaland in second-half stoppage time at the Ullevaal Stadion on 9 September.
Heggebo replaced Jorgen Strand Larsen in Norway’s squad after the Wolves forward picked up an injury.
But what was supposed to be a delightful experience for the striker may have turned a bit sour due to Stale Solbakken’s decision.

Stale Solbakken should have brought Aune Heggebo on earlier in Norway vs Moldova
Heggebo ended up not even getting a single touch of the ball, and the final whistle was blown soon after he entered the pitch against Moldova.
Some of the Norwegian fans online weren’t pleased with Solbakken’s decision, with one writing: “So poorly done by Stale.”
Another supporter felt the Landslaget’s manager was being “disrespectful” by bringing the Baggies forward on in the final seconds rather than 15 minutes earlier.
- Heggebo was on the bench in Norway’s 1-0 win over Finland on 4 September.
- The Baggies signed the striker for £4.75million last summer.
- In the Championship for the Albion, the striker has played every minute so far.
Solbakken faced further criticism for failing to be decisive and brave enough in a game his team were comfortably winning.
One Norway faithful tried to make a case for the head coach’s decision, stating: “It must be said that Stale tried to get Aune in earlier, but was hindered by sloppy throw-ins and the fourth official not being quick enough on given occasions.”
Others seemingly mocked Heggebo, terming his performance “strong” and coy remarks like “didn’t make a mistake”.

Ryan Mason will be happy to have Aune Heggebo back at West Brom
Heggebo has been a key player for Ryan Mason this season despite the fact that his wait for a goal in the Championship continues.
Josh Maja has returned to action at West Brom, but the Norwegian centre-forward feels like the English manager’s first-choice number nine for the campaign.
The Hawthorns faithful have been left impressed by Heggebo in his opening few matches at the Baggies, and they will hope he continues to reach further heights in his career.
While the striker will be proud to make his debut for Norway, it’s arguably just a start on what could potentially be a successful career for him for both club and country.
It will be interesting to see what mood the centre-forward will be in upon returning to B71 as the Black Country club host Derby County in the Championship on 13 September.
