West Brom figure reacts as Ollie Bostock announcement made
Ollie Bostock has gradually made a name for himself at West Brom over the years.
Albion have had some great success stories with their academy in recent times.
Tom Fellows, who left West Brom for Southampton in the summer, is one of the more notable ones. Albion fans were beside themselves when Samuel Iling-Junior signed at West Brom, hoping for a more permanent replacement.
Following his integration with the senior team, there remains the hope that several more academy stars climb the ranks.

Ollie Bostock signs new deal at West Brom
West Brom announced on 10 September that Bostock has signed a new two-year deal at Albion.
The youngster was instrumental in Albion’s run to the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals, contributing two goals and assists. Meanwhile, he’s had the perfect start to the Under-21s’ 2025/26 campaign, scoring two goals in three games.
- Bostock has made 46 appearances for West Brom’s youth teams.
- He has scored seven goals and provided four assists in all competitions
- The attacking midfielder was on the bench for Albion’s recent win over Stoke City
Furthermore, Ryan Mason will be eyeing Premier League promotion this season. The Baggies are unbeaten in the Championship after Nat Phillips kept their hopes alive in West Brom’s most recent win over Stoke.
As such, the Baggies’ head coach could be keen to integrate some youth players into the team as the season progresses. While Bostock netted for Albion during pre-season, he is determined to cement his spot in the first team.
He said: “This contract has made me realise the faith the club have in me and how much they want to see me succeed.
“Last year was a successful one on the pitch, scoring goals, getting assists, and they got me around the first-team squad.
“I want this contract to take me into first-team football, whether that be here or on loan, that’s the next step which can benefit me and make me a better player.”
Richard Stevens praises Ollie Bostock’s ‘strong mentality’
Academy Manager Richard Stevens could not be happier that Bostock is continuing his Albion journey.
The attacking midfielder is considered one of West Brom’s more promising youngsters, and there is confidence that he will be given the nod by Mason this season.
While he is young, there is an element of maturity to Bostock’s game. He is always eager to get to the end of chances or take risks when the game calls for them.
As a result, there is hope that this hunger he has to win, coupled with his fierce mentality, will be enough to see him excel at The Hawthorns.
Indeed, Stevens seems to think he has what it takes. Reacting to his recent deal, the academy manager said: “It was important for us to ensure Ollie’s long-term future was at Albion.
“We will make sure he gets everything he needs to develop and grow into the footballer we know he can become. To progress in this industry, you have to have a strong mentality, and Ollie challenges himself and is the type of footballer who is going to take risks.
“He has got that mentality where he can take risks and make magical things happen, as we saw last year in the Youth Cup and in some of the 21s games.
“His good moments are memorable and we hope to see more of those during his performances in the future.”
