Ex-West Brom figure lands plum job at Arsenal as announcement made

West Brom have had several important figures pass through The Hawthorns over the years.

Ryan Mason replaced Tony Mowbray at West Brom over the summer after the Baggies finished ninth in the Championship last season.

There is hope that Mason will guide Albion to Premier League promotion this season. This comes after West Brom have won three games in their last five in the league.

Albion were defeated by Derby County last week. However, there is hope that Mason will get back on track when West Brom play Middlesbrough on Friday.

However, it seems Albion are not the only team to have undergone a reshuffle as of late.

Richard Garlick appointed CEO at Arsenal

Richard Garlick had multiple roles at West Brom after he was appointed to the board in 2010.

These included director of football and the technical director, as well as the club secretary. He left Albion in 2018 with his eyes set on the Premier League, and he took up a position with Arsenal in 2021.

Arsenal have now announced on 19 September that Garlick will become their Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. This comes after Vinai Venkatesham vacated the position and joined Tottenham as CEO earlier this year.

Who are some of West Brom’s Leadership and Executive team?

West Brom fans have approved of some of the decisions made by their Leadership and Executive team as of late.

This includes transfer decisions, which saw Nat Phillips arrive at West Brom from Liverpool and Aune Heggebo from SK Brann this summer.

There are several individuals who make up the Baggies’ Leadership team, but some are more well-known than others.

Shilen Patel is the chairman and statutory director of West Brom, while Andrew Nestor is President and sporting director at the club. Ashish Patel is chief marketing officer, and Ethan Gobetz is chief financial officer at Albion.

Ian Skidmore is director of communications and fan engagement, and Josh Bentley is director of finance at West Brom.

If the Baggies can continue their impressive form in the Championship, there is no doubt that West Brom will be singing the praises of these individuals and several others soon.
