Richard Keys and Andy Gray love West Brom footage they’re shown vs Leicester City

West Brom suffered late heartbreak when they were made to rue missed chances as Leicester City equalised late in their game on Friday night.

Ryan Mason has been criticised by West Brom fans for team selection and tactics in their games against Middlesbrough and Derby.

However, he got it spot on against Leicester City, but West Brom’s returning Josh Maja missed a glaring opportunity to seal all three points in what was a three-point deserving performance from the Baggies.

Despite the disappointment overall, on paper it was a good result as West Brom ended their poor record against Leicester City with a point in a 1-1 draw.

One game-changing moment in particular caught the eyes of broadcasters Andy Gray and Richard Keys.

Richard Keys and Andy Gray react to Samuel Iling-Junior’s solo goal for West Brom

West Brom doubled Leicester’s xG in the game with 2.02 to the Foxes’ 0.92, according to Sofascore.

Speaking via beIN SPORTS as they were shown footage of Samuel Iling-Junior‘s goal, Keys simple said: “Nice.”

Co-host Andy Gray also commented, saying: “Decent goal, but not enough.”

Leicester’s late goal came through a Bobby Decordova-Reid effort, which was deflected and registered as a Nat Phillips own goal.

The game has put West Brom on 11 points with two games left to play before the October international break.

Iling-Junior’s goal has proved that Albion do have more quality in their ranks than people initially thought, as the Aston Villa loanee showed some real promise.

Iling-Junior was West Brom’s difference maker against Leicester City

Iling-Junior made his first start for Albion on Friday night in what was only his second appearance for the club.

The versatile winger spent the second half of the 24/25 season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he played predominantly as a left-back for Michael Carrick.

His moment of brilliance proved that if West Brom can continue to be defensively compact under Mason, wins will start to come, as Albion are capable of being an attacking threat this year.
