West Brom predicted XI vs Millwall – Josh Maja keeps place, two defensive changes

Ryan Mason will be daft not to start Josh Maja as West Brom face Millwall on Saturday.

The Den will host the Baggies on 4 October in the Championship, as the English manager looks to build another winning run.

Mason’s team beat Norwich City at Carrow Road on 1 October, getting much-needed three points and breaking their three-game winless run.

Maja scored in the 1-0 win against the Canaries, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him start once again, but the Albion may make a few changes to their backline.

Alfie Gilchrist and Callum Styles to start for West Brom against Millwall

Charlie Taylor was substituted in the 75th minute against Norwich after going down to the ground, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him replaced in the starting lineup.

Callum Styles seems like the obvious choice to feature against Millwall, even though Krystian Bielik surprisingly came on for the Southampton loanee at Carrow Road.

George Campbell has been impressive playing at right-back, but he arguably lacks the quality needed to be a threat in the final third, making the inclusion of Alfie Gilchrist against the Lions sensible as the Baggies should look to put them under pressure early on.

Aune Heggebo will once again likely have to settle for a place on the bench as Maja showcased his reliability up front with his first goal of the season in the 1-0 victory.

Ryan Mason must bring consistency to The Hawthorns

Mason is expected to secure a play-offs spot in the Championship this season, but the Baggies will undoubtedly need to be more consistent to achieve that goal.

The losses to Derby County and Middlesbrough in the league were a big blow for the Albion, but since then, other teams in and around them have also dropped points.

After eight games, the Black Country outfit are fourth in the table, but there’s still a long way to go to maintain that position.

West Brom have drawn their last five matches against Millwall, with the last win over the Lions coming in 2020 at the Den.

Fans in B71 will hope Mason can end their wait to beat the South East London club and put further pressure on table-toppers Millwall.
