Ryan Mason may have found West Brom’s Jed Wallace solution after what he saw up close at The Hawthorns
Ryan Mason will be looking to make a statement when West Brom return to action after the international break.
West Brom have been criticised under Mason recently, as the Black Country club seems to be lacking in consistency of results and performances.
Mason will be glad to have Karlan Grant back soon, as he will have to end his experiment with George Campbell at right-back for West Brom.
Mason has an issue in Jed Wallace, and the Baggies boss could also be tempted to utilise one player who did something eye-catching against Juventus Next Gen on Wednesday night.

Rio Parmar shines again in West Brom’s youth game vs Juventus
West Brom‘s academy took on Juventus Next Gen in a European youth competition called the Premier League International Cup on Wednesday night.
West Brom’s youth team ran out 4-2 victors against Juventus, with striker Jack Bray bagging a brace to enhance his own reputation.
Fellow talented forward Rio Parmar was also at it again after being introduced from the substitutes’ bench.
Parmar has already been lauded for West Brom this season, as his impending senior debut is inching closer every week.
- The Baggies led 3-0 vs Juventus in the 53rd minute
- Juventus almost completed a comeback and brought it back to 3-2
- Parmar came off the bench to score and seal victory
Mason watched the game closely as his academy prospects side beat a talented Juventus youth setup, which Samuel Iling-Junior was brought through.
Parmar’s consistent performances have now put Albion attacker Wallace under serious pressure.

Parmar could be West Brom and Mason’s solution for Jed Wallace
Wallace has been below par for West Brom for a long time now, and it’s about time someone else is given a chance.
Mason worked as a youth head coach for Tottenham, and will have enjoyed watching a young side put on a good display against Juventus.
Positions Rio Parmar can play:
- Attacking midfield
- Right-wing
- Centre-forward
There’s no doubt that Mason will have had Parmar in mind already due to his consistent goalscoring form.
Parmar’s versatility across the front line, partnered with his fearlessness, could be exactly what the Baggies need.
While it is true Parmar is raw, fans love nothing more than seeing a kid break into the first-team ranks and, as the saying goes, if you’re good enough then you’re old enough.
On the basis of this encouraging result and performance, Parmar, Bray and maybe even some others may be knocking on the door for a first-team chance very soon indeed.
